How TackTime compares
Every tool below tracks time. The differences that matter to a firm that bills and audits its hours: how time is entered, who approves it, whether your team is being watched, and what it really costs. Here is the honest matrix, including where the others win.
The matrix, as of 2026-09-01
| Product | Entry model | Per-project approvals | Approvals cost | Surveillance features | Price | Trial |

| Hubstaff | Desktop timer with activity capture | No: approval is a payroll gate for the whole timesheet | Team tier and above, $10 per seat per month billed annually or $12 billed monthly | Screenshots, activity percentage, app and URL logs, GPS | $4.99 to $10 per seat per month billed annually across the published tiers; Enterprise is custom priced; 2-seat minimum on paid plans | 14 days |

Competitor figures are the self-serve list prices as published on 2026-09-01, annual billing where it is offered, read from the sources listed at the foot of this page. Several products also offer a free plan with limits on users or features, and several quote a custom-priced enterprise tier above the range shown; both are outside the per-seat figures here and on each vendor's own pricing page. Vendors change pricing; follow the links for today's numbers. "None, by policy" is genuine credit: Toggl Track shares our stance on monitoring. The difference is structural, in that TackTime never built the features.
The decisive difference, one per product
Hubstaff
Proof-of-work screenshots versus a record your team signs.
TackTime vs HubstaffTime Doctor
Every trial is the full monitoring tier, whether that is the tier you meant to evaluate or not.
TackTime vs Time DoctorToggl Track
A very good timer, until someone has to approve the week.
TackTime vs Toggl TrackHarvest
Whole-week approvals at $14 versus per-project routing included.
Clockify
Cheap tiers, with the trust features behind the paywall.
QuickBooks Time
A base fee, a per-employee fee, and a required QuickBooks subscription, and still no routing.
TimeCamp
Monitoring sold as an upsell that its own comparison page calls a distraction.
Everhour
A fine project-management add-on with a five-seat minimum and opt-in screenshots.
Connecteam
A deskless-workforce suite with no approval chain at all.
BambooHR
An HR suite whose time module its own reviewers call shallow.
Why trust this page
We name where competitors win, we date every figure, and we link every source. A comparison that only ever finds in its author's favor is not one.
Report a wrong figure
Vendors change prices, and a figure here can fall behind its source. A reported figure is checked against its source and corrected within a week. Quote the figure, say what it should be, and give the address it can be checked at.
